Office de Tourisme des Coteaux du Jura

In 1605, a Lord protector had a chapel built on a place where hermits used to live. After the Revolution, the village became the owner and rented it to Joseph Simonin, a hermit. After becoming private again, it was threatened of abandon but an association works today to preserve it. Behind the lava-roofed  house, from a grassy terrace,  you have a panoramic view on Conliège, the Vallière valley and Lons-le-Saunier. A bit higher, in Briod village, the chapel Saint Etienne de Coldre is also preserved. Surrounded by a “burgonde” cemetery, it might be one of the oldest church in Franche-Comté, even if the current building dates mainly from the 16th century.

You can access the Ermitage by the walking path which goes from Perrigny to Châtillon (cars and motorbikes are forbidden on this path). You will start from the top of Perrigny. You will walk along the vineyards between Perrigny and Conliège, with wonderful viewpoints on the Vallière valley. The path slopes gently upwards and leads to nice spots (a 800 meter-long lighted tunnel for example - The Diane tunnel).
